La verifica della significatività dell'ipotesi nulla in psicologia

  • Riccardo Luccio,
  • Emilia Salvadori,
  • Christina Bachmann,

The volume addresses the problem of verifying the null hypothesis, which has been lively debated in recent years in the world of analysis of psychological research data. Over the years a paradigm of inferential interpretation has been established, which is unfortunately the result of a hybrid approach between two partially incompatible approaches, which respectively refer to RA Fisher on one side, and to J. Neyman and E. Pearson on the other. The volume examines the historical constitution of this paradigm, the difficulties it continues to create and indicates the main possible solutions to overcome these drawbacks. Finally, the work examines the issue of teaching statistics to future psychologists.
